The primary reason everyone loves this chair is because of its comfort. The cushions are slightly more padded than the basic models and slightly less padded than the more premium models (like the Vegas and Magic Recliner). Ekornes manufactures padding in a couple ways. First, they pour the foam directly onto the steel frames of the chairs to form a solid unit. Second, they insert layers of polyester in-between the foam and the upholstery. This not only aids in the longevity of the upholstery, but also increases the comfort because even your cushion has cushioning. :)
