Ekornes Stressless Replacement Glide Wheel Casing- Bring smooth reclining action back to your older Stressless Recliner!

Choose the quantity of glide wheel casings that you need:

Quantity of 1- Single for left or right side of chair.
Quantity of 2- For both left and right side of chair.
Quantity of 4- To replace both the left and right sides of 2 chairs

Did you know that Ekornes changed the glide wheels and casings around the year 2000 (sometime between 2000-2002)? So Stressless chairs produced at this time or before will not be compatible with this Glide Wheel Casing. Unfortunately, we are unable to provide replacements for those casings. We have however, heard from customers that the glide wheel casings from earlier models can often be found "used" from local directory listing or auction sites.

We have found that a broken glide wheel casing is typically the cause of a Stressless recliner that will no longer recline back and forth effortlessly. You will need your existing glide wheel, washer and long bolt (which attaches the wheel to the actual Stressless seat). Please use the existing parts from your Stressless chair. If you no longer have those parts, please order the complete Ekornes Stressless Glide Wheel here.

Remember that Ekornes changed the glide wheels between 2000- 2002, so Stressless chairs produced at this time or before will not be compatible.

stressless-glide-wheels-old-and-new-small image Helpful hint: To remove the glide wheel bolt and replace the glide wheel or glide wheel casings, use a star bit size T45 (or comparable-sized Allen wrench hex key). These are typically available at your local hardware store.

Does work on older Stressless

I read a review that said reviewer used a file to expand the mounting hole on these new glide wheel casings and they worked on an
old (pre-2002) chair. I have a a 1984 model and looked for parts. Used were almost 10 times higher. I measured and then used a 1/2 drill bit to open the mounting bolt hole - the old bolt slide perfectly through the hole I drilled. Then I replaced the old broken plastic glide wheel casing with this one. Fixed both sides for less than $40 - 1/10th the price using old used pieces! I now have my chair back like it was when it was new. Pleasantly surprised!

Stress less Chair glides

Just bought a 2nd home and a Stressless chair was left in the house. Both glide controls were shot, but otherwise perfect condition. A 2 minute internet search brought me to Unwind Company and $35 and 2 days later the parts arrived and the chair works perfectly. Thank you Unwind!!

Item fit my more recent Ekornes recliner perfectly and was a snap to put in. The old casing was severely worn and would not hold chair position. Will certainly purchase more for my other recliners as necessary.

Use a T-50 Torx. Strangely enough, the dealer where I bought the chair had a T-45, but T-50 works better, as noted in another review.

Dispatched on day the order was received 21/6/2021. Arrived 10/7/2021 having travelled with USPS from Pearl MS 39208 via North Houston, Chicago, Miami before arriving London Heathrow Airport on 9/7/2021. I received it the day after. Thanks to Unwind Company for chasing up USPS, I recommend them and would use them again - if they use UPS instead!

Fit for old model chair

I had a 30 year old Stressless with the older type glides. I was at the point of trashing it and bought these to attempt a repair. The good news is they work perfectly if you reuse your old wheel and bolt. To get them to work I enlarged the bolt hole with a file as the older style bolt is a little larger. Otherwise no issues.
