The 8 Basic Massage Modes of the EP1273KL

Using two or four firm rubber massage heads, the Panasonic Swede-Atsu Wave massage lounger accurately simulates stroking with the palm of the hand, pressing with the heel of the hand, kneading with thumbs and using pressure with the thumbs. It also covers a total of 135 square inches - this includes the neck, shoulder and back.

The Eight Massage Modes are:

Kneading
A gentle in-and-out motion using four massage heads. This function is especially effective on your neck and shoulders. Try both kneading modes for a different kneading pattern and sensation.

Loosen up with a deep kneading massage that stimulates acupoints and increases energy flow. Eases soreness and works out those knots.

Rolling
Muscles are gently stretched as the massage heads move up and down along the back and spine. When Regional is selected the heads will move in a 4-inch range. When Full is selected, the heads will move in a 27-inch range.

As the massage pads roll up and down along the spine, pressure is relieved from the compressed cervical disks and muscles are gently stretched.

Tapping
Invigorating sensation of hands rapidly tapping on your back muscles. Try both tapping modes for a different rhythm.

Swedish
Utilizing pressure and four rollers to simulate the palms of hands.

Shiatsu
A strong deep-tissue massage with pressure and stretching using two massage heads.

Swedish massage refers to a collection of techniques designed primarily to relax muscles by applying pressure to them against deeper muscles and bones, and gently rubbing in the same direction as the flow of the blood returning to the heart. When simulating Swedish-style massage, the Swede-Atsu chair uses four rollers, or heads, in order to replicate the feeling of the palms of a massage therapist's hands. This delicate style of massage stimulates the skin and nervous system.

Compression
A firm rubbing motion across the back. Two modes are available with compression.

Hawaiian
A gentle rubbing motion across the back.

Percussion
A deep-pressure massage that stimulates acupoints.
