Description

Ekornes Stressless Replacement Glide Wheel Casing- Bring smooth reclining action back to your older Stressless Recliner!

Choose the quantity of glide wheel casings that you need:

Quantity of 1- Single for left or right side of chair.
Quantity of 2- For both left and right side of chair.
Quantity of 4- To replace both the left and right sides of 2 chairs

Did you know that Ekornes changed the glide wheels and casings around the year 2000 (sometime between 2000-2002)? So Stressless chairs produced at this time or before will not be compatible with this Glide Wheel Casing. Unfortunately, we are unable to provide replacements for those casings. We have however, heard from customers that the glide wheel casings from earlier models can often be found "used" from local directory listing or auction sites.

We have found that a broken glide wheel casing is typically the cause of a Stressless recliner that will no longer recline back and forth effortlessly. You will need your existing glide wheel, washer and long bolt (which attaches the wheel to the actual Stressless seat). Please use the existing parts from your Stressless chair. If you no longer have those parts, please order the complete Ekornes Stressless Glide Wheel here.

Remember that Ekornes changed the glide wheels between 2000- 2002, so Stressless chairs produced at this time or before will not be compatible.

Repaired two chairs no problems at all. This was manufactured by Ekornes (so glad it wasn't a knockoff).

    Fixed my Stressless Recliner

Published by Steve Leibson on 17th Feb 2019

These little plastic parts were just what I needed to fix my chair. You'll need a Torx 50 driver or bit to undo the screw. I bought a Torx set from Amazon just for the job. All you need to do is get a $2 bit for your ratchet at Home Depot. I'd rate these as 5 stars except that $30 for four pieces of plastic is sort of steep, but it is Ekornes we're discussing here, so that's what they cost.

I was ready to throw out 2 Ekornes recliners.....

Published by Paul Wambach on 1st Mar 2018

I can’t even come up with exactly how I came across the unwind.com website but I am evtremely happy I did!

About 5 years ago I found a man in Australia who actually crafted 2 sets of glides for my chairs. I had no other way I could rescue them.

They worked as good as they could, however I longed for a better glide. I called ekornes a few time, but they would not budge on selling me even one set.... not even the eternal part because mine did not break they both just wore out.

You don’t know how relieved my wife and I are in not having to get rid of 2 of our favorite chairs when the only thing Wrong were the glides!

Very easy to change out, and my chairs are better than new. I can’t thank you enough!

    Regards,

    Hard to find part

Published by Dave Stringer on 15th Feb 2018

The parts I received worked very well. I had a problem in that the center holes were too small, but was able to correct that myself. The service from this company was fantastic. Aside from tracking down some hard to find parts they went out of their way to help me, were beyond courteous, and I actually got delivery BEFORE I expected it. I wish everyone did business like these people.

    worked like a charm

Once I had some assistance from the unwind folks, I was able to get the glide wheel off without any problems. This part made my Stressless recliner easy to recline again.
