The glide rods on my old stressless sofa have needed replacement for years. I finally decided to buy a new set and replace them. The video explained how to install these pretty easily. It wasn't too hard. the only thing that bugged me was the shipping charge. Why does the manufacturer require this anyway?

I purchased these to repair one of the recliners on my reclining couch. Contacted Customer service (thanks Chase - appreciated the help you did an amazing job) to determine which one I needed...glad I did because my couch was manufactured in 2002 and still looks great. Installed easily.

After a fruitless search the only place I could find with old style Stressless glide rods was here.
Very easy to order and fast delivery - the fun comes in the fitting. The fitting was actually quite easy with two people.

These are OEM parts and will definitely get you back into loving your loveseat of which I own two. Mine wavered exactly at the crossover manufacturing date between old and new. For this reason I recommend looking at the constriction of the tips that attach to the seat cushion before ordering. If they are black, order the new models; if brown, order the old models. While the instructions are included, both of my loveseats did not resemble them [no hold-down screws on the pivot]. However, they did come apart in a similar way once I figured it out [hold the O-ring of the leather to the side while removing the back]. The last issue I had was a piece of the old glide was stuck at the bottom of the glide tube after removal. I had to remove the back board from the frame and drill a hole between the two rivets so I could remove the debris. Without doing so, the glide will not slide deep enough into the tube and the seat will not return to the full upright position. HOPEFULLY, Ekornes wil redesign this glide mechanism - again - and will come up with a more servicing-friendly and longer-lasting glide. The procedure is actually pretty simple once you understand the technique but if you are a novice DIYer, plan on an interesting afternoon of learning. BUT the results are well worth the effort and you will once again fall in love with its comfort. UNWIND was very helpful in resolving this issue and I highly recommend them as a source for those elusive parts for your Ekornes products.

After many, many years, we finally wore out the glide rod on our Stressless sofa (I thinks it's more than 15 years old). Must have called 5-10 stores before finally getting in touch with Ekornes, who in turn sent us to Unwind to get us fixed up. What a breath of fresh air dealing with this group has been!
